The folks at Pocketables have an Archos 5 Internet Media Tablet with Android in house, and after the requisite unboxing they've put it up against the older, wiser Archos 5 Internet Media Tablet original. It's not quite a fair fight, since the Android model shown here has 32GB of flash storage compared to the old IMT's 250GB HDD (there's also a HDD option for the new Android tablet, a whopping 500GB), but there are some other notable differences like materials and curves. Thankfully for Archos fans those differences don't break compatibility with the optional Archos 5 mini dock, and overall the Android model seems to have just a slight bit of "premium" vibe to it.

Mobinnova's élan, or the Beam as it's reportedly known as now, is a curious beast. It runs Windows CE, yet it's packing NVIDIA's Tegra graphics technology. Thus, it's not really a netbook, but calling it a smartbook might be short-changing it. Whatever the case, a recent interview with Mobinnova's CTO Mark Anderson has unearthed plans to launch the machine at CES 2010 with an undisclosed mobile carrier (or more, maybe) in America. We're also told that it should last between five and ten hours when playing back HD video, or up to 24 hours if it's just sitting around looping an iTunes playlist. 當大家在談論 Android 平台用於 Netbook 的可行性時，Acer 是最早表態會有相關產品推出的廠商。事隔一年多，終於會在今月推出。首先登場的會是 10 吋機款 D250，同時採用 Android 與 windows XP 作業系統。廠商號稱可以 18 秒就可進入系統，當中提供了一些輕量、Internet 應用為主的簡單程式，用戶只要一按 Switch 按鈕，就可以切換到 Windows 進行較複雜的應用。除了 Wi-Fi 外，機中更提提 HSPA Modem 模組，讓用戶全天連接 Internet。暫只知會於 9 至10 月份推出，香港會有售，但未知定價。
